This Task Force is improving the way that farm seekers and farmland holders find one another. It is:
1. Assessing New England's "linking" programs and researching similar efforts nationwide.
2. Clarifying terms and functions (e.g., listing ( a list of properties), linking (pre-selection and/or pairing of seeker and owner) and matching (facilitating an agreement).
3. Analyzing what's working and strategizing ways to improve individual programs and regional coordination around helping seekers and holders find each other.
As a result of this Task Force's efforts, we will have improved linking programs in all states - a sustainable, coordinated system to locate available farm properties. At least 1,000 farm seekers will use the improved system fo find farms within one year of the project's end.
