Recent Accomplishments

Developed LFG's Farm Transfer Planning program, last year assisting 15 farm families and other
farmland owners through the succession and transfer planning process. This is the only service of
its kind in New England.

Conducted Transferring the Farm workshops in 3 states, in collaboration with land grant universities,
farm link organizations and private providers.

Contracted by Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources to complete farm
transfer plans with Farm Viability Enhancement Program participants.

Collaborated with Southeast Massachusetts Agricultural Partnership to provide farm
transfer planning events plus direct services to 5 farm families.

Provided land use and farm transfer planning services to several clients under contract
with the NH Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Innovation
Program.

Designed and conducted Women and Farm Transfer Planning workshops for over 90 women
in 4 states; funded by USDA Farm Services Agency.

Launched LFG's Working Lands program, assisting individual and institutional landowners with
planning and management; completed a feasibility study for CT land-based nonprofit to develop a
shared-use kitchen; assisted 4 other community organizations with land use planning.

Led a collaboration that was awarded a major USDA National Research Initiative grant
to conduct a national, multi-institution research and education project on farmland tenure, access,
succession and stewardship.

Developed and managed the Farm Transfer Network of New England, a regional service
provider network supported by a website with personnel directory and resource materials. Founded in
collaboration with Extension educators at six universities, NGOs and private professionals.

Presented on farm succession at workshops in Massachusetts and Michigan; presented
keynote speech at Small and Beginner Farmers of NH conference.
